Grow old

But life
Had plans

I took
A sip

Found it
warm exhilarating
I could not walk
Could not move
I became lightheaded
Unsteady unsure
Intoxicated with
Your kiss
With your touch
Frozen by
Your smile
I reached
For another sip
But your cup
Was empty
And you were GONE.

MY PRAYER

Protect all those 
That we love 
And hold dear
Help us to overcome 
The sum of our fears.
Behind every cloud 
There is a silver lining 
Teach us the way
And to appreciate  
how to find it.
May we realize 
That good times 
They don't always last
And may our tomorrows 
Be better than days past
